Due to Jon Moxley‘s current situation, former TNT Champion Miro now finds himself in the finals of the AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament against Bryan Danielson at Full Gear.
The plan for Miro’s involvement had to come together quickly as he wasn’t even scheduled to at Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite earlier this week.
According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, the decision to bring Miro in for this match didn’t take place until Tuesday afternoon. AEW had scheduled to fly Miro in on Wednesday afternoon, and he arrived at the venue shortly before Dynamite went live on TNT.
It’s entirely possible that Tony Khan waited to announce Miro for the match last night against Orange Cassidy until they had him securely at the venue.
On an interesting note, Sapp reports that creative plans for Miro in AEW have “changed often” as of late. But at this time, it’s unknown what those plans actually were.
Regardless of previous plans, Miro finds himself in one of the biggest matches of his All Elite Wrestling career on Saturday, November 13, at Full Gear. If he defeats Danielson, he’ll become the number one contender for the AEW World Championship. This means he could be facing either Kenny Omega or “Hangman” Adam Page following the pay-per-view.
