There might have been more to Zoey Stark being attacked last night backstage on WWE NXT 2.0 than initially believed.
Last night during the opening segment of WWE NXT 2.0, Toxic Attraction’s Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne attacked Zoey Stark backstage in the locker room while NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose cut a promo in the ring. While many thought it was part of the ongoing story to move Io Shirai into a program with Mandy Rose, that doesn’t seem to be the case.
According to John Pollock of POST Wrestling, multiple sources confirmed to him that the injury is legitimate and that the former NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion is “listed internally as injured.”
While it’s unknown when the injury occurred, it likely took place sometime last week during the Scareway to Hell Ladder match on NXT Halloween Havoc. Many in the WWE Universe feared that Shirai was injured by the spot she took late in the match, but it appears her partner was the one who got injured instead.
