Tony D’Angelo Sets The Record Straight: It’s Called ‘Gravy,’ Not Sauce

Tony D’Angelo offered some controversial remarks on Wednesday morning that are sure to have Italians up in arms.

Tony D’Angelo appeared on the latest episode of The Bump and answered a question that has been asked for many generations, with conflicting results. Is it sauce, or gravy? Tony D said it’s gravy to him, and if you’ve got a problem with that… go ask Mark the producer about it.

“So before I give my answer [laughs] a lot of people say sauce is just marinara sauce and then gravy, that’s when you put all the neckbones and all that stuff in there. I’ve heard it both ways before in my family, but… I’ve gotta go with ‘gravy.’ Some people are going to get upset, but that’s just how my family does it,” he declared. “[There’s] different parts of Italy, they say it different ways, so it’s all good. If anybody’s got a problem with that, they can talk to Mark.”

Tony D’Angelo also spoke about taking ownership of the pinched fingers emoji, and said that he’s taking full charge of it now.

“Absolutely. I mean, as you just saw, everybody recognizes doing this [holds up hands and does the gesture] because of me. Robert DeNiro, all those guys did that stuff before but Tony D’s here now, so I’m taking full charge and ownership of the pinched fingers.”

After talking about being a fashion icon, Tony also said that he doesn’t have too many “friends” in NXT, but he wants to square off with Bron Breakker one day.

“Friends? More like business associates, but that Bron Breakker guy, he’s alright. I like how he handles his business, I’m looking forward to having some matches with that guy and maybe somewhere down the line we could figure something out where we cross paths.”
