Windam Rotunda (formerly Bray Wyatt) reportedly had a good deal of creative frustration before being released from WWE, and that may have been reflected in Vince McMahon’s final feelings toward the former WWE Universal Champion.
According to Fightful Select‘s sources, many backstage believed that McMahon ended up not liking Rotunda after expressing his thoughts about the creative direction for the Fiend which culminated at WrestleMania 36 as there was “never a true creative endgame for that story” after a six-month build. Rotunda was reportedly very open about his frustrations behind the scenes.
Wyatt’s release did create frustration amongst the locker room as well as they were told that his release was a “budget cut.” Almost 20 people reached out to Fightful for the report and the overall belief is that there was more to Wyatt’s release than him being a monetary burden.
