King Xavier Woods used his power to honor his best friend and set the stage for an exciting match on WWE SmackDown.
First, Woods officially knighted Kofi Kingston, as he bestowed his fellow New Day stablemate with a royal unicorn pin. By proclaiming that the former WWE Champion is now “Sir Kofi Kingston,” Woods let his tag team partner soak in the glory of his reign as the king.
The Usos, the reigning SmackDown Tag Team Champions, crashed the party and made fun of their former rivals for dressing up too soon, as Halloween was still two days away on Friday night. Jimmy and Jey informed the duo that SmackDown was “The Bloodline Show” and refused to acknowledge the king. In response, Woods raised his scepter and declared that he was using his power as the king to set up a Trial by Combat between the two teams.

The broadcast team quickly confirmed the match for later in the show. In a hard-fought main event, a timely error by the Usos cost them the bout, as Woods capitalized when the two brothers got confused about which one was the legal man. Woods got the pin to steal the win and potentially set up a title match down the road.
