The Ring Of Honor Tape Library Might Not Be Available To The Highest Bidder After All

It appears the Ring of Honor tape library isn’t currently for sale as initially reported, at least according to officials from several of wrestling’s top promotions.

On Thursday, Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated reported that Sinclair was currently attempting to sell the Ring of Honor tape library to the highest bidder and that the asking price was much more “than the current market dictates.”

Despite yesterday’s report, the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter disputes these claims, stating that sources from WWE, AEW, and IMPACT Wrestling all deny having knowledge of the Ring of Honor tape library currently being up for sale.

“Sports Illustrated reported that the library is up to the highest bidder,” Dave Meltzer wrote. “But sources in AEW, Impact and WWE have all denied knowing anything about it, and if it was for sale right now, one would think WWE and AEW would be the first people contacted.”

You would have to believe if the Ring of Honor tape archives were truly for sale, those within WWE and All Elite Wrestling would absolutely know about it as they would be two of the biggest potential buyers. Fans will have to wait and see what the future holds for Ring Of Honor, as the promotion made an announcement on Wednesday that revealed it would be going on hiatus and “reimagining” the company after Final Battle in December.
