Moose Wins IMPACT World Championship At Bound For Glory, Defeats Josh Alexander

Moose stood tall at the end of the night, bringing Josh Alexander’s emotional title win to a quick end.

The main event of Bound For Glory saw Josh Alexander defeat Christian Cage for the IMPACT World Championship, but he did not leave with the title. Moments after Alexander made Christian tap out, his family joined him in the ring to celebrate the achievement. Moose, who won the Call Your Shot Gauntlet earlier in the night, rushed in the ring from the crowd and cashed in his title opportunity. Alexander got his family out of the ring, and turned back around into a spear by Moose, who made the cover and won the title.

This is the first IMPACT World Championship reign for Moose. He also introduced the TNA World Heavyweight Championship and later had his reign sanctioned by the promotion, and he also won the IMPACT Grand Championship on two separate occasions.

Moose recently confirmed he signed a new contract with the company, telling Mina’s House in July that he had a new two-year deal.

“Never say never, right?” he said when asked about possibly going to WWE. “I’ve had chances to go there and had an opportunity to go there not too long ago, but turned it down to stay with IMPACT. I am staying (with IMPACT). I signed a new deal and I’m staying. I had an opportunity to leave to go to WWE, but I just felt like, right now, IMPACT was better for me with what they offered and the schedule and how I’m being used. We’ll see what happens with WWE in the next couple of years.”

Moose would confirm the length of the deal when asked during the interview, explaining that a longer termed contract was offered, but he wanted to keep it at two years.

“Two years. They do (try to get me to sign longer-term), but I always keep it at two years.”
