Becky Lynch And Charlotte Flair Officially Swap WWE Women’s Titles

To officially kick off the new era of WWE SmackDown, Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair were set to swap their respective WWE Women’s Championships on Friday night.

Lynch, the WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion, and Flair, the WWE RAW Women’s Champion, were drafted to opposite brands, so the company arranged a title swap to keep the titles assigned to their proper shows. But in brief promos throughout the night on SmackDown, Lynch and Flair both hinted that they might not hand their championships over so easily. Lynch teased that “Becky Two Belts” could return, while Flair told her counterpart she should just hand the title over.

At the end of the show, WWE official Sonya Deville hoped to have the swap go off without a hitch. She asked the champions to hand their titles over to each other. “Big Time Becks” and “The Queen” clearly didn’t approve, and they hesitated to follow the request. Eventually, the champions indeed swapped the belts.

Flair challenged Lynch to a winner-take-all-match. Before Lynch could answer, Sasha Banks interrupted the proceedings and said Flair was “out of her damn mind” for thinking she’d run the show. Content to leave with her title, Lynch told her rivals they could sort their issues out, and one of them could meet her at WWE Survivor Series.

Banks then reminded Flair that Friday is “Boss Time”, but “The Queen” wondered if anyone remembered her reign as the champion. Flair and Banks then brawled to close the show.
