‘Young Rock’ Casting Call Is Out For ‘High Chief’ Peter Maivia

The search is on for who will fit the high bill of “High Chief” Peter Maivia for a Young Rock. With a second season being officially announced for NBC, PWInsider is reporting that a casting call has been issued in hopes of finding the appropriate actor to find the infamous grandfather of The Rock.  According to the site, the casting description of Maivia should be around his 30s in order to play the wrestler during the 1970s. It is also noted that the late great Maivia may become a regular role in the series. He has yet to be seen in the show. Maivia passed away when The Rock was ten years old in 1982. Back in September, was reported by Mike Johnson of PWInsider that the casting search is also on for “Mean” Gene Okerlund, George “The Animal” Steele, Jerry “The King” Lawler, Tommy Rich, Bam Bam Bigelow and Haystacks Calhoun.

Names that appeared in the first season ranged from Randy Savage to Andre The Giant to Vince McMahon.
