In a match between two of WWE’s top duos, The Street Profits challenged The Usos for the SmackDown Tag Team Championship at WWE Extreme Rules.
The story of the bout centered around Montez Ford’s injured ribs; just two days before the pay-per-view, Ford faced Roman Reigns on WWE Friday Night SmackDown and took a brutal beating at the hands of “The Tribal Chief.”
The champions focused on this injury throughout the bout on Sunday, and even with Ford’s best efforts, the effect of the pain was apparent from bell to bell. In the end, his ribs arguably cost him the match. Even when he hit his signature splash on Jey Uso, the agony in his ribs delayed his pin attempt and gave Jimmy enough time to break up the pin.

From there, the Usos isolated Ford and pinned him with a double splash for the win.
