NXT Cruiserweight Championship Match: Kushida (c) vs. Roderick Strong w/Diamond Mine
Kushida throws a few kicks that miss. Strong takes down Kushida. Kushida and Strong trade submission attempts. Strong runs over Kushida. Kushida traps Strong in a flying armbar. Kushida works over Strong’s arm. After the break, Kushida lands a flurry of moves to Strong. Strong sits Kushida on the top rope. Kushida surprises Strong with an avalanche arm breaker.
Strong manages to hit a backbreaker followed by an Olympic slam. Strong lights Kushida up with chops and elbows. Kushida rolls Strong into the Hoverboard Lock. While the referee is distracted Bivens puts Strong’s foot on the bottom rope to break the hold. Kushida gets pulled out of the ring and beat down by the rest of Diamond Mine. Strong hits An End to Heartache for the win.
Winner and NEW Cruiserweight Champion, Roderick Strong!
After the match, Grayson Waller inturupts. Waller says after what happened to his boy Drake Maverick last week he realizes NXT is a jungle and he isn’t waiting for his turn. Bivens eventually accepts the challenge for Strong.
