It looks like the new-look NXT 2.0 is about to get a new attitude as well.
“NXT 2.0” debuted on September 14 with new branding and graphics, as well as a host of new wrestlers as part of the reboot. According to Fightful Select, NXT is also leaning towards promoting an “edgier” product, and it comes from the direction of Vince McMahon himself.
The report notes that there are internal discussions about NXT 2.0 targeting the P18-34 demographic, and the new direction would see changes in “everything from in-ring work and aggression to harsher language” and similar things. One other potential change would see some more lax rules for female wrestlers’ gear, but it was noted that what that entails was not specified.
It was also explained that NXT 2.0 could see the brand keeping up with current trends and topics through promos and character verbiage, but all of these ideas were in the discussion phase and haven’t been fully implemented yet.
