Sami Callihan Reportedly Suffers Broken Ankle; Out Until 2022

Sami Callihan sustained an injury this past weekend at the IMPACT Wrestling tapings Saturday evening and it looks like “The Death Machine” will be out for an extended period of time.

Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer is reporting that Callihan suffered a broken ankle and it will be an injury that has him slated to be on the shelf until spring of 2022.

Callihan tagged with longtime foe Eddie Edwards at Saturday’s Victory Road and the duo faced Moose & W. Morrissey. The two adversaries showed some synergy before Edwards eventually had to leave when his wife Alisha was powerbombed by Morrissey center of the ring. This left Sami flying solo and he was ultimately taken out by the two big men when he got hit with a big boot and a Lights Out spear in succession. Callihan has been in the midst of a slow face turn over the course of the last few months since facing Kenny Omega at Slammiversary. The reported injury would also remove Callihan from teaming up with Jay White against Edwards and Davey Richards at the October 30 Wrestling Revolver Show.
