Big E Teams Up With Finn Balor, Gets First Win As WWE Champion

Big E shocked the WWE Universe earlier this week when he won the WWE Championship by cashing in his Money in the Bank contract on Bobby Lashley. A few days later, on WWE SmackDown, Big E notched his first win as the champion in a tag team match.

To kick off tonight’s episode, Roman Reigns once again made his way out to the ring, with “The Tribal Chief” demanding that the crowd in Knoxville, Tennessee acknowledge him. Reigns went on to say that Finn Balor bringing the Demon out — which he did last week — didn’t scare him. Speaking of fear, Reigns stated that he believse Brock Lesnar was afraid when the two stars faced off last week.

Big E took this opportunity to interrupt “The Head of the Table”, as he came to the ring and confronted his fellow world champion. They raised their belts in a tense encounter before Finn Balor came to the ring.  During a commercial break, WWE official Adam Pearce booked a tag team match where Big E and Balor joined forces to take on the SmackDown Tag Team Champions, the Usos. After a competitive bout, the fan-favorites emerged victorious when Balor hit the Coup De Grace on Jey while Big E floored Jimmy with the Big Ending for the win.

After the bell, both Big E and Balor shook hands in the ring before Big E held his title up to proudly celebrate his first victory as the WWE Champion.

Later in the show, after Big E had brief interraction with Heyman, the Usos brutally attacked the fan-favorite and told him he’s on the wrong show. Reigns arrived after the beatdown and seemingly approved of his cousins’ actions.
