Fatal-Four Way Match On 9/14 WWE NXT Changed To NXT Championship Bout, Updated Card

Following the shocking news that Samoa Joe has been forced to relinquish the NXT Championship, William Regal has confirmed that the brand will crown a new champion on Tuesday night,

In a tweet, Regal, the general manager of WWE NXT, announced that Pete Dunne, LA Knight, Kyle O’Reilly and Tommaso Ciampa, who had previously been set to face off in a match to determine the top contender for the title, will now wage war for the gold itself.

“By now you may have heard the unfortunate news that Samoa Joe has had to relinquish his NXT Championship due to injury,” said Regal. “That leaves us without an NXT Champion, but not for long. Because tomorrow night, on the relaunch of NXT 2.0, the fatal 4-way match between Pete Dunne, Kyle O’Reilly, LA Knight, and Tommaso Ciampa will now be a fatal four way match to determine the new NXT Champion.

The stakes have been raised, as the Fatal 4-Way Match between Kyle O’Reilly, Pete Dunne, Tommaso Ciampa and LA Knight will now determine the new NXT Champion.

The title was vacated Sunday night after Samoa Joe revealed he had suffered an injury that would force him to relinquish his title. After the shocking development, Mr. Regal made the decision to have the Fatal 4-Way clash crown the next NXT Champion.

As Regal stated, Tuesday’s episode will also mark the arrivial of the “new” NXT WWE has been teasing in recent weeks.
