ICW Strips Noam Dar Of World Heavyweight Championship, Books Two Four-Way Matches To Crown New Champion

Insane Championship Wrestling (ICW) has vacated its World Heavyweight Championship due to Noam Dar’s inability to defend the title due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In a tweet, ICW shared a statement in which it announced that it will crown a new champion after the company stripped Dar of the gold.

The statment is as follows:

As a result of COVID-19 restrictions, Noam Dar has been unable to compete for ICW since winning the ICW World Heavyweight Championship last year.

Due to the ongoing uncertainty around this, we have made the difficult decision to vacate the ICW World Heavyweight Chanpionship. We hope that Noam Dar can return home to ICW in the near future. When he does, he will be granted a World Championship Match at a time of his choosing.

Two Fatal 4-Way Elimination Matches will now take place on 12 September and 26 September. The win r rig each match will enter the main event of Fear and Loathing to challenge for the vacant ICW World Heavyweight Championship.

Dar had been the champion since Feburary 2, 2020, when he won the title at ICW’s 9th AnnualSquare Go! Travel restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic have prevented him from defending the gold, though Dar has remained an active member of the NXT UK roster.

In another tweet, ICW announced the participants for one of the Fatal 4-Way matches: BT Gunn will face DCT, Kez Evans and Jason Reed.

As of this writing, it’s unclear who will compete in the other Fatal 4-Way Match, but WrestleZone wil provide more details as they become available.
