Sheamus has earned a chance to recapture the WWE United States Championship, as he’ll challenge Damian Priest for the title at WWE Extreme Rules.
“The Celtic Warior” defeated long-time foe Drew McIntyre in a No. 1 Contender’s Match for the title this week on WWE RAW to set up a rematch with Priest.

Sheamus emerged victorious on Monday after he endured some of the very best that McIntyre had to throw at him, including a White Noise that nearly dropped “The Celtic Warrior late in the but. McIntyre looked even more primed to win after he was able to wrench off Sheamus’ mask, delivering a big kick to the naked face of his opponent that looked to set up the win for “The Scottish Warrior.”

Unfortunately for McIntyre, during a Claymore attempt, Sheamus quickly dodged the kick, pulling McIntyre down in a fast pin, using the fan-favorite’s tights for extra leverage. After the bell, McIntyre was none too pleased, and he hit Sheamus with a Claymore after the match was over. Nonetheless, on Sunday, September 26, Sheamus will have get his chance to regain the belt he lost to Priest at WWE SummerSlam.
