Report: Adam Cole Is Now ‘100%’ A Free Agent, Expected To Field Offers

Adam Cole is officially a free agent, Bay Bay.

Adam Cole’s status with WWE has been a hot topic over the past few weeks, with many wondering what his next move would be. Cole’s contract was set to expire on Friday, August 27, and now a new report from Fightful Select confirms the former NXT Champion is now “100% a free agent.”

It was noted that WWE expects Cole to field offers to determine where he ends up working next. Fightful also confirmed Cole was not at SmackDown on Friday and despite the last-minute cancellation of his Twitch stream, he did not meet with Vince McMahon as it was speculated on.

Cole has not been seen on WWE TV since losing to Kyle O’Reilly in “The Undisputed Finale” at NXT TakeOver 36 last weekend. Despite being absent from NXT, Cole did make one final appearance with Johnny Gargano in a stream for Mattel, but it was reported that the stream was pre-taped a few weeks back.

Wrestling Inc first reported that Adam Cole’s initial contract expired in July, but he signed an extension that kept him on television through SummerSlam weekend.

UPDATE: Mike Johnson of PWInsider confirmed Sean Ross Sapp’s initial report by noting WWE issued an internal memo via email this morning stating that Adam Cole is no longer with the company.
