CM Punk Teases What ‘Ricky Rabies’ Items He Kept From The ‘Heels’ Set, Explains Why He Never Sold His Own Ring Gear

CM Punk‘s run as Ricky Rabies resulted in some unique keepsakes.

CM Punk spoke with WrestleZone about his debut as “Ricky Rabies” on the STARZ series Heels. While Punk has since made his official return to pro-wrestling with All Elite Wrestling, his portrayal of Rabies will air on Sunday, August 29 on STARZ.

In addition to speaking about the inspiration behind the character, Punk was also asked about taking home a souvenir from his turn as the fictional indie wrestler. Several weeks back, Punk did a Q&A session where he was asked about holding on to ring gear from his career, and Punk said he still had everything he’d ever worn. Speaking to WrestleZone, Punk was asked if he considered taking anything from his Heels run as a keepsake. Punk explained why he held onto all of his in-ring apparel over the years, then hinted that he might have held onto a couple of items from the show, which will be a little more obvious once it airs on STARZ.

“I definitely feel like as I get older I’m more of a memorabilia guy, but man, memorabilia can get fucking expensive for the stuff I like. I want horror movie props. I just never sold any of my gear because I think that’s strange. I don’t want somebody—I mean, I wore trunks, essentially underwear, right? I’m not selling my Speedo to some weirdo fanboy on the internet. I don’t care how much money they’re offering,” Punk said, “because I just feel weird about that, but I have everything from my career.

“I may or may not have a few things of Ricky Rabies. I don’t know. I’ll just say allegedly, maybe, I have a rat or two. You gotta wait and see the show to know what I’m talking about, but I do have a Ricky Rabies shirt that the crew graciously gave me, and I wear it proudly,” Punk stated. “I got some Ricky Rabies stickers too because Ricky was a big merch guy. He was selling stickers and t-shirts at intermission.”

The latest episode of Heels will premiere on Sunday, August 29, 2021, at 9:00 p.m. ET. You can watch the episode live on STARZ. Check out WrestleZone’s Heels cast interviews, including CM Punk, Stephen Amell, Alexander Ludwig and more at this link.
