Alexander Wolfe Confirms Wrestling Return; Competing At WXW Germany’s 20th Anniversary Show

A familiar face is set to make his first post-WWE appearance next month as Axel Tischer (FKA Alexander Wolfe in WWE) has announced that he’ll be working the WXW Germany’s 20th anniversary show on August 7.

After being released from the WWE, Wolfe noted that he’d be returning back to Germany in the near future, and now you can mark him down for an in-ring return to his home country as well. wXw Germany will be turning 20 years old in August and the promotion plans to celebrate in a big way by bringing one of its countrymen home. Wolfe was the promotion’s Unified World Wrestling Champion for nearly a full year starting in 2012, and this will mark his first non-WWE appearance since 2015.

On Monday, the company released a video of Tischer getting ring-ready for the date of August 7. The former NXT Tag Team Champion also shared his excitement in getting to step back in the ring, noting that his new chapter begins soon.

Wolfe was attacked by Imperium stablemates Fabian Aichner and Marcel Barthel on the May 18 edition of WWE NXT and it would signify his final appearance for the company. The next day, Wolfe was part of a mass exodus of WWE roster cuts which occurred on May 19 stemming from what the company says are ‘budget cuts’.

“The bright side is, I can move back home, and see more often now my best friends,” Tischer told WrestleZone’s Managing Editor Bill Pritchard about his WWE departure. “I can go back to my life I had before, which was a good life. Plus I created a brand. I had a chance to get the exposure under the WWE umbrella. I created six years of more knowledge, more skill set, more abilities to maybe pass onto somebody, maybe use it as tools for myself,” he noted, “because WWE made me a better performer and a better wrestler. So I now have the time to create myself how I see myself, how I would love to get presented right now by myself.”
