WWE Delays The Release Of Lex Luger’s ‘Icons’ Documentary

Those who wanted to see the new Lex Luger documentary will have to wait a little bit longer as it has been announced the release has been delayed.

Originally scheduled to release today (July 4), WWE has pulled the trailer and advertising for the documentary. PWInsider is reporting that WWE officials want a stronger lead in for the documentary, possibly around the time of a larger event such as after WWE MITB in a few weeks.

The release was centered on the anniversary of Lex Luger bodyslamming Yokozuna on Independence Day in 1993. WWE recently put a hold on additional documentaries and has no official release dates for others including Superfan: The Story of Vladimir and the Nexus documentary.

Lex Luger’s documentary will showcase new interviews with Luger himself, Sting, Bret Hart, Ric Flair, Bruce Prichard and Jim Cornette. The episode will also feature his legal troubles throughout the years.
