Jerry Lawler is still fighting for his son in a court case with Hardeman County, Tennessee and the date has now been set for a jury trial.
It was back in July 2018 when Grandmaster Sexay (Brian Christopher Lawler) attempted suicide while in jail and was rushed to a medical facility where he passed away shortly thereafter.
Lawler filed a lawsuit against the town as a result of the death which happened while he was in their custody due to a DUI arrest. PWInsider is now reporting that the trial is scheduled to begin on May 23, 2022. The lengthy delay was due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Lawler is seeking $3M in damages along with additional compensation should the court agree. Lawler’s legal team reported that sheriff John Doolen promised Lawler that he would ensure that Brian got the help he needed for addiction while under his supervision.
