Mickie James Not Sure Why Chelsea Green Feud Was Scrapped, It Could’ve Been A Cool ‘Full-Circle’ Moment

Mickie James says she’s still not sure why her planned feud with Chelsea Green didn’t make it to air in WWE.

James was a guest on Oral Sessions with Renee Paquette this week and talked about her WWE career, which at one point last year was supposed to include a feud with Chelsea Green.

The pair taped a match and some content for the planned angle, but it was ultimately scrapped and went unaired. The nixed feud would have seen Green step into the ‘stalker’ role that Mickie first played when she debuted in WWE as a foil for Trish Stratus. James explained that they slowly took things to social media once they came to the realization that WWE wasn’t going to follow through with it, and said she still doesn’t understand why it didn’t come to fruition on television.

“We started doing that actually on Twitter after the fact because I realized I didn’t really think it was gonna happen at that point because they’d already pulled it. We shot the stuff and everything for it and for whatever reason, it just never got approved prior to us even going out there and having the match. I don’t really know what happened. Never had I ever had something like that happen,” James said, “except for the one time when I debuted with CM Punk on Sunday Night Heat and that match got pulled from the episode. That’s the only other time.”

“I was like, this is wild, I can’t believe we went out there and wrestled and shot all this stuff and now we’re not doing it. I don’t understand. That was supposed to be my comeback or whatever. That was part of my comeback from the injury and stuff and I was like, this would actually be a really, really cool way to flip the script, do it differently but then hopefully build Chelsea up and do something,” James explained, “maybe she even like retires me or whatever. It would be a cool thing to do and a full-circle, like a little moment, but I don’t know, it could’ve been awesome. It could’ve been pretty awesome, I guess.”
