No, John Cena isn’t turning heel, but he is going ‘Evil’.
NBC has announced a new project called “WWE Evil” featuring John Cena as the creator, producer and narrator. According to the synopsis, the new original series is “an entertaining ‘psychological expose’ into the minds of the most diabolical antagonists in WWE history, and their impact on mainstream culture.”
Cena commented on the announcement, posting the following:
For every good guy, there has to be a bad one and @WWE has created some of the BEST bad guys (and ladies) in the history of entertainment. Excited to highlight those who made us boo, scream, and sometimes cry! WWE Evil on @peacockTV!
Earlier this week, Cena shared a photo of the WWE logo on his Instagram feed, leading to speculation that a return might be coming but it would appear that this project is the answer to Cena’s cryptic post.
WWE programming continues to expand on Peacock, with “WWE Evil” joining a growing catalogue of sports entertainment programming currently streaming on the app, including original documentaries My Pursuit: Life, Legacy & Jordan Burroughs and In Deep With Ryan Lochte, sports series Lost Speedways, hosted by Dale Earnhardt, jr., and Michael Phelps: Medals, Memories and More. Peacock also recently announced additional sports programming to premiere this summer, including Golden: The Journey Of USA’s Elite Gymnasts and four daily shows on Peacock’s Tokyo NOW channel, Tokyo live, Tokyo Gold, On Her Turf At The Olympics, and Tokyo Tonight.
