Jose Alberto Rodriguez Chucuan, also known as four-time WWE world champion Alberto Del Rio, is set to go on trial for sexual assault. But in a new update, the case won’t reach a courtroom until August.
According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Del Rio’s trial won’t begin until August, three months after it was supposed to start on May 3. This delay marks the second time Del Rio’s trial has been delayed after it was postponed this past January.
The trial will determine whether Del Rio is guilty of aggravate kidnapping (one count) and sexual assault (four counts.) Given the nature of these charges, Del Rio could face up to life in prison if he is found guilty.
More information about the alleged assault is available here.
In the meantime, Del Rio is set to wrestle this summer. He has already announced a match against Andrade.
