Alexander Hammerstone has almost held the MLW National Openweight Championship for nearly two years at this juncture, but he wants to add World Heavyweight gold to his shoulder.
Hammerstone has been Pro Wrestling Illustrated’s #1 ranked contender for Jacob Fatu’s World Title since The Restart occurred earlier this year and this past week on Fusion “Your Boy Hammer” laid the challenge on the line to The Samoan Werewolf, stating outright that the champ wouldn’t survive his Nightmare Pendulum finisher.
Unfortunately for the Dynasty Bro, matters won’t go as planned for Hammer as CONTRA’s Josef Samael released a video of “truths,” claiming that during CONTRA’s hostile takeover of MLW headquarters back in March 2020, that he re-worked some of his insurgents’ contracts and only he holds the power to say who challenges Fatu and who doesn’t. Sadly, Samael states Hammer falls in the latter rather than former.
“I control who gets the privilege to challenge Jacob Fatu,” Samael stated. “Not MLW and certainly not you. So flex all you want, but your challenge has been denied.”
Hammer has had his share of trouble with CONTRA as he’s come face to face with the mysterious Mads Krugger who firmly believes that the Openweight Champ fears him. The two men battled it out in an undisclosed location in which Krugger set up a decoy in order to attack Hammer from behind and leave him laying.
