Braun Strowman Defeats Drew McIntyre, Added To WWE Title Match At WrestleMania Backlash

Braun Strowman and Drew McIntyre couldn’t coexist as a team, leading to the two former champions facing off in the main event of WWE RAW. Thanks to some interference late in the match, Strowman emerged victorious in order to book his ticket to the WWE Championship match at WrestleMania Backlash.

After the two stars clashed earlier in the night when McIntyre accidentally clotheslined Strowman, the two went at it in the ring in a singles match. After a few short minutes, the match was interrupted by WWE Champion Bobby Lashley and MVP, who came down to watch the match. They did much more than just watch, though, as MVP and Lashley both attempted to get involved toward the end of the match.

While Strowman and McIntyre battled it out in the ring, Lashley distracted the referee and allowed MVP to interfere by pulling McIntyre off Strowman’s shoulder. Strowman responded by turning and knocking MVP off of the apron, but McIntyre capitalized by dropping his opponent with a Future Shock DDT. Strowman persevered though, and while McIntyre set up for the Claymore, Mace and T-Bar showed up to distract McIntyre. As a result, Strowman dropped McIntyre with an emphatic Powerslam for the win.

With the victory, Strowman has earned himself a place in the WWE Championship match against both McIntyre and Lashley at WrestleMania Backlash. With both superstars staring down at Lashley, it’s clear that Lashley will have his work cut out for him at the pay-per-view.
