Cesaro On The UFO: I Won’t Do It Every Day Because It Has To Be Special

Cesaro is finally getting his moment in the spotlight, and his triumph at WWE WrestleMania 37 was just the first step.

While “The Swiss Cyborg” is now chasing the WWE Universal Championship, the presence of Seth Rollins, his opponent at “The Showcase of the Immortals”, threatens to throw a wrench in these plans. Rollins remains determined to avenge this loss, and a recent episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown poured gasoline on this fire.

“The Friday Night Savior” was fueled by rage when the show repeatedly replayed the clip of Cesaro spinning him over his head in the UFO. Fans have learned to anticipate Cesaro’s Swing, but this new move caught the audience by surprise. Still, “The Swiss Cyborg” doesn’t plan for this move to become a regular maneuver like the Swing.

In an interview with Alistair McGeorge of Metro UK, Cesaro explained that he intends to preserve the special feeling surrounding the UFO, and he was proud of the response it received at WWE WrestleMania 37.

“I mean, I’ve waited nine years to do it,” said Cesaro. “I’m not going to do it again and again and again! It’s called UFO for a reason – you don’t see those every day, right?! It has to be special!

“For me, it was really cool. That was one of those – ‘I’ll do it, I hope the fans will remember it and still like it.’ And they did. It’s very humbling and cool to see, so it made me proud.’”

Cesaro also discussed his new prominent role on WWE Friday Night SmackDown. He explained that in his journey into the main event scene, he continues to try new things and learn from them because he’s not afraid of failure.

“For me, I learn every day – and here’s the other thing too, I fail every day as well,” said Cesaro. “Everything I do I’m like, ‘Oh man, I could’ve done that better,’ but I did it to the best of my ability.

“I never do something and go, ‘Oh I’ll do this half-heartedly.’ No, I do it to the best I can and then I try to improve on it. Any new chance I get, to do those promo segments or be put in different spots or show a different side – I truly enjoy and try to make the best of it. And then I learn and I’ll try to get better, and I think that’s very important. Don’t be afraid to fail.”
