The forbidden door has been opened, as IMPACT Wrestling and All Elite Wrestling have established a fruitful working relationship in recent months. Naturally, many fans have wondered whether former IMPACT Wrestling stars could return to the promotion at some point. From Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian to Brian Cage and Lance Archer, there are several possibilities
But based on Christian Cage’s recent comments in an interview with Chris Mueller of Bleacher Report, “Captain Charisma” can be crossed off the list of these options. Cage made it clear that he’s all in on AEW, so he doesn’t plan to work with other promotions any time soon. To be fair, he acknowledged that anything can happen in the future.
“I don’t have any plans on [returning to IMPACT] right now,” said Cage. “I am solely focused on AEW, but who knows what can happen in the future. I am relatively new here. I don’t think my focus should get too far away from AEW at this point. I am committed to being part of this brand and helping it move forward.”
Christian also commented on the duration of his run with AEW. He emphasized that he wants to finish out his multi-year contract, and he also stated that he intends to frequently wrestle.
“I signed a multi-year deal with AEW,” said Christian. “I am committed to getting through that and then we’ll see where I’m at. I haven’t put an exact date on it yet, but I know I am closer to the end than the beginning.
“I’ll be wrestling on a regular basis.”
At this point, it’s clear that Cage truly plans to live up to his slogan and “outwork everyone.”
