Like several of his peers, Booker T was impressed by Bad Bunny’s performance at WWE WrestleMania 37.
On “The Hall of Fame with Booker T and Brad Gilmore,” the WWE Hall of Famer complimented Bad Bunny’s work ethic. He also praised the GRAMMY Award winner’s success in making the moment his own. The six-time world champion also noted Bad Bunny’s genuine fandom of professional wrestling as an important factor in this remarkable showing.
“I must say, Benito or Bad Bunny, he definitely put in the work,” said Booker T. “But one thing about Bad Bunny also is that this dude is a real fan, he’s a real fan of professional wrestling. He’s been watching it for years, obviously. Just by putting me on the way he did, writing a song about me. That let me know that he was a kid who really watched this thing that we call professional wrestling.
“Lifelong fan to professional wrestling. That right there tells me man he loves this. And then for him to be in the middle of that ring as a kid, just think about it. Bad Bunny watching professional wrestling. There’s no way in a million years that he ever thought that he would be at WrestleMania in a tag team match. He was preparing for that moment, and I’ll tell you man, he went out there and knocked it out.
“There’s so many guys that would have been in that position that wouldn’t have known how to handle it, wouldn’t have known how to take that moment and make it theirs. And this dude, from the outset of that match, to the end, he worked, and that’s what workers do.”
Booker T then joined the growing number of wrestlers who have stated that Bad Bunny should now be considered a WWE Superstar.
“I give Bad Bunny Superstar status now, WWE Superstar status because that’s how good he went out there and did,” said Booker T.
The WWE Hall of Famer then compared Bad Bunny’s debut to Pat McAfee’s first outing and claimed that the musical star was more entertaining.
“[He did] better than Pat McAfee,” said Booker T. “[The match] was more entertaining.”
