Triple H On Adam Cole’s NXT Status: This Was A Chapter In The Story, I Would Advise You To Watch On Tuesday

Triple H says Adam Cole isn’t going anywhere, and he doesn’t think a loss to Kyle O’Reilly will sit well with the former NXT Champion.

Triple H and Shawn Michaels took part in the night two TakeOver post-show media call and the pair were asked where Adam Cole goes from here. Despite suffering a loss in the main event on Thursday, Triple H explained that this is just one chapter in the story that they are telling, and he thinks fans will get more answers on the Tuesday premiere of NXT.

Triple H: “I would advise you to watch on Tuesday. I don’t know if you’ve heard or not, but this Tuesday we start on USA [Network] and it’s a new night and it will be spectacular.”

“I think all things will be revealed then, but it’s just a funny thing when you succeed here and do well here [in NXT] for a fairly long period of time, there are moments in time where you’re telling stories and then something definitive happens like tonight, and people think ‘Well, that’s the end of it. Certainly it’s the end of the book, the end of the chapter’ and move on. That’s not the case at all. If that were the case, then half of this roster would be leaving tonight, and it’s not the case at all.”

“It’s a chapter in the story, a chapter in the saga that they’re telling. Kyle O’Reilly proving himself against the man that said he was the leader of the Undisputed Era and was dragging them along, and were just his lackeys, and proving he’s not so much of a lackey anymore. If I’m Adam Cole, I can’t imagine that that sits very well with him, so I would imagine that it’s not the end of the story.”

Michaels added that this is taking Kyle O’Reilly to the next level, and Cole has been at the top of his game for well over a year now, but O’Reilly just put himself on the same level with the win on Thursday night.
