AT NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver, the undisputed NXT Cruiserweight Champion stood tall.
At the end of a ladder match between Santos Escobar and Jordan Devlin, Escobar emerged victorious to unify NXT’s two Cruiserweight Championships.
“The Irish Ace” took control early on with a springboard moonsault. He hit Escobar with a ladder, but the leader of Legado del Fantasma fired back by using the ladder as a weapon several times.

Devlin rallied by slamming Escobar face-first into a ladder. But Escobar dove onto Devlin and sent him crashing into a ladder outside the ring. Both competitors continued to wage war, doing everything they could to keep the other man down.
“The Ace of Space” hit a breathtaking moonsault from the top of a ladder to firmly gain the advantage. But Legado del Fantasma ran to the ring and attacked Devlin when he was seemingly on the edge of victory.

But Devlin refused to stay down, as he dropped Escobar with a Spanish Fly off a ladder. But in the end, Escobar sent Devlin crashing through a ladder, and he unhooked the titles to win the match.
In 2020, Escobar won a tournament to become the interim champion when the COVID-19 pandemic prevented Devlin from defending his title. Before this match, Devlin’s return to NXT had complicated the identity of the true NXT Cruiserweight Champion.
