Rhea Ripley: I Thought Charlotte Flair Would Get Added To My WrestleMania Match, Asuka Is A Dream Opponent

Like many fans, Rhea Ripley expected Charlotte Flair to be added to the WWE RAW Women’s Championship Match at WWE WrestleMania 37.

In a media call before the show, Ripley admitted that she doesn’t know why Flair has been left on the sidelines. “The Nightmare” stated that she thinks a triple threat match could have been a lot of fun. (H/T Louis Dangoor of WrestleTalk.)

” I was expecting something like that to happen, but it hasn’t,” said Ripley. “I don’t really know what’s going on with all of that, but I am very excited to step in the ring with Asuka.

“If Charlotte got added to the match, like I wouldn’t complain. I think it would still be an amazing match, and it would be a lot of fun and hopefully I could get some payback for last year.”

Ripley also looked back at her history with Asuka, and she called the opportunity to face “The Empress of Tomorrow” a dream come true.

“Since I’m only stepping into the ring with Asuka, I’m still super excited because she’s someone that I’ve wanted to wrestle for a long long time,” said Ripley.

She recalled how she has wanted to face Asuka since she was only 17 years old. Ripley shared that, even then, she admired the future RAW Women’s Champion, so she’s excited to finally step into the ring with her.

“Now I get to wrestle her at WrestleMania, so it’s definitely a dream match of mine, and I’ve very very glad that it’s coming true,” said Ripley.
