Mustafa Ali Reportedly Injured His PCL In December, Opted To Delay Having Surgery

Mustafa Ali recently revealed that he has been working with an torn PCL. In an update to the situation, a new report offers a timeline for the injury.

The newest episode of The Wrestling Inc. Daily revealed that Ali has been injured since December 28,2020, when he faced (and defeated) Ricochet on WWE RAW.

The report also states that Ali opted to put off having surgery, at least for the time being, even after the injury worsened during the Royal Rumble Match.

“The day after the Rumble, Ali underwent an MRI and was told that the injury would require surgery and rehab,” wrote Nick Hausman of Wrestling Inc. “From what we are told, it was around this time that Ali began to regularly berate the other members of Retribution rather than undergoing surgery.”

Hausman notes that this change in Ali’s creative direction was expected to lead to the eventual implosion of Retribution. Ali’s stablemates betrayed him at WWE Fastlane, but no further details about the plans for the group are known at this time. It’s important to note that the group hasn’t definitively broken up yet, so fans will have to wait and see how the situation continues to unfold.
