Aron Stevens admits that he took the fans for granted, but notes that hit was the late Joseph Hudson who helped him realize what he is and always will be: a professional wrestler.
Stevens will be challenging Nick Aldis for the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship at the Back For The Attack PPV on March 21. In build for that, the NWA released of mini-documentary of Aron Stevens discussing the impact that Hudson had made and will continue to make on his in-ring career, something that Stevens revealed that he grew to hate until he joined the NWA and partnered with Hudson who wrestled under a mask as The Question Mark. Before doing that,Stevens thought his love for wrestling was gone.
“I never thought I would get that back and at a time in my life when I was actually just starting an acting career and I thought wrestling was completely done, I got a call to go check out the NWA. So I dusted off my wrestling boots and kind of went there and within a day or two I was paired just by happenstance with Joseph Hudson and we had become friends years before and Joseph’s success as the Question Mark, seeing the business through his eyes because what he had was something that 95% of people in every major promotion do not have and that is a genuine connection with the fans. And when fans cheer you because they want to, that is a different feeling. It sounds different, it feels different and it is different.”

Stevens says how much his relationship with Hudson helped him to see wrestling once more in a brighter light.
“Being able to be there next to him and have him experience it and to kind of see how he lit up and how that made him feel it made me realize that I took my relationship with the fans for granted. I took their supporting me the way they did for granted and Joseph Hudson made me realize that. Joseph Hudson made me realize that no matter what at the end of the day I will always be a professional wrestler. I can’t get it out of me. It is part of who I am and working with him and being his friend, he made me okay with who I am and I have not been okay with who I am in a very, very long time.”
