Big E has been forced to miss out on the last couple of SmackDown broadcasts after a brutal assault at the hands of Apollo Crews. During tonight’s episode, Big E made his return, and took down Sami Zayn in an Intercontinental Championship match before once again being attacked by Crews.

The WWE Intercontinental Champion made his way out to the ring to rip into what Crews did, saying that there was no way for him to come back from this now. As he continued to call out Crews, though, both Sami Zayn and King Corbin made their way down to the ring, where they argued about who should get a title shot first. Big E granted a match to whoever made their way to the ring first, and Zayn wasted little time in running down and sliding into the ring. However, after the match began, Big E wasted little time in taking down Zayn with a Big Ending for the win and title defense.

After the match, Big E attempted to celebrate, but was quickly attacked from behind by Crews, who grabbed the ring steps and once again slammed them into Big E in another brutal display. Although he’s back now, Big E still has to deal with Crews, who desperately wants a title shot and will do whatever it takes to get one. It was later announced that Big E will take on Crews at WWE Fastlane with the Intercontinental Championship on the line.
