Christian Cage says ‘Out. Work. Everyone.’ is a catchphrase that is also represents the mindset he’s carried with him for his entire career.
Christian was this week’s guest on Oral Sessions with Renee Paquette and spoke about his arrival in AEW and the inspiration behind ‘Out. Work. Everyone.’ He explained that the phrase was a result of a collaboration between himself and AEW, noting that he got a call on a Saturday night about the company wanting a shirt ready for his debut. He said he thought about his goal in the company, but it had deeper meaning that resonated throughout his tenure in the wrestling business.
“It’s simple, effective, it’s straight to the point. I think it embodies what my career has been all about and I’ve always felt like I have to go out there and prove that I outwork everybody. I’ve always gone to the ring with a chip on my shoulder and always felt that pressure of—whether it’s warranted or not—they don’t realize how good I am, and I have to show them tonight.’ And that’s just the mindset I brought with me,” Christian explained, “and it’s the mindset I bring with me now.”
Christian also said he wouldn’t be doing this if he didn’t have the confidence in himself to do it, and he’s coming back to prove himself to people. He feels like his body has been preserved in a way these past seven years from not taking bumps, and he feels good now that he’s had the proper time to heal.
