Reba is calling in sick again, and Nyla Rose will be taking her place in a six-woman tag team match set for AEW Dynamite this week.
AEW posted the following video of Tony Schiavone announcing the change, with Britt Baker revealing Reba (Rebel) is still “not cleared to compete” and Nyla Rose will be subbing in for her on Wednesday’s show:
Per Dr. Britt Baker’s colleague, Reba’s still too hurt to wrestle this week, so GM @TonyKhan has allowed the DMD to bring a new partner! @NylaRoseBeast teams with Britt + @maki_itoh vs. @shidahikaru + @mizunami0324 + @thunderrosa22 on Wednesday LIVE on #AEWDynamite at 8pm on TNT! pic.twitter.com/FedgYx2t4O

It’s worth noting that the substitution was expected, as Tony Khan noted during his post-show scrum that Reba was already trying to get out of the match. During the AEW Revolution post-show media call on Sunday, Khan was asked about Maki Itoh’s status moving forward and addressed the match. Khan put her over as a tremendous talent and revealed she’ll at least appear one more time on Wednesday in a six-woman tag team match.
“Maki Itoh is tremendous and I hope to see her here often. We’ll definitely see her live Wednesday night on Dynamite in a six-woman tag. She’ll be teaming with Britt Baker—Reba/Rebel, Britt’s assistant, is slated for the match, but already I’m hearing that she’s trying to get out of the match, so it will be interesting to see if she’s able to participate. We’ve got great opponents lined up for them with Thunder Rosa, [Hikaru] Shida and Ryo Mizunami. Maki Itoh’s going to be involved in AEW Dynamite and I’m very excited for that.”
