New Japan Pro Wrestling made a major announcement during Thursday’s 49th Anniversary show in Nippon Budokan. NJPW Wrestle Grand Slam will take place on two nights in May, and both shows are going to be presented on some of the biggest stages possible.
Wrestle Grand Slam: Night 1 will take place in Yokohama Stadium on May 15th, home of the Yokohama DeNA BayStars baseball team. It will be the first wrestling event held in the stadium since Frontier Martial Arts presented their 3rd Anniversary Show there in 1992.
Wrestle Grand Slam: Night 2 will take place in Tokyo Dome on May 29th. The show will be the first non-Wrestle Kingdom event in the Tokyo Dome since 2005.
More details to come in the coming weeks, including card, start time, commentary, etc.
