Many fans assumed the worst when the National Wrestling Alliance removed its video library from its YouTube channel. An update to the situation suggested that the company is preparing to make an announcement about its future.
In another development, a new report suggests that the NWA will be filming new content in March.
On Saturday’s episode of the Wresting Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer stated that the prestigious promotion will tape new content from March 21-24.
Meltzer also noted that a “positive announcement” planned for this week should shine some light on the NWA’s plans.
The company hasn’t held original tapings in several months due to the COVID-19 pandemic. NWA has been working with All Elite Wrestling and the United e-Wrestling Network in order to showcase its champions.
It’s important to note that if/when the NWA resumes production, the promotion will feature a different line-up. Top stars like Eli Drake, James Storm and Zicky Dice have left the company. I’s unclear what the company’s relationship with AEW could mean for talents who have been working there, like Thunder Rosa and Serena Deeb.
WrestleZone will provide more details as they become available.
