The Miz Hopes To Change People’s Perception Of Him With His Second WWE Title Reign

The Miz won the WWE Championship at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view, and his victory immediately proved to be quite divisive. Like his first world title win in 2010, his crowning moment generated a lot of negativity, but “The A-Lister” hopes to prove his doubters wrong while he’s carrying the title.

In a recent interview with Alex McCarthy of talkSPORT, The Miz shared his mindset surrounding his second run with the WWE Championship. He compared his triumph at WWE Elimination Chamber with his first cash-in in 2010 and explained how he has earned the fans’ respect.

“In 2010, it was 100 percent negativity,” said The Miz. “From the critics, from Twitter, from all the fans, 100 percent negativity. ‘You shouldn’t have it, you suck, you’re the worst’

“10 years later, it was half and half. It was you suck, but we respect you. Or it was like he deserves it, he should have gotten it two years ago, he deserves it and others were like this is the weakest champion we’ve ever had.”

“The A-Lister” stated that he wants to show everyone who still doubts him that he’s a talented performer. He pointed to the infamous “Angry Miz Girl” and pointed out how even she has warmed up to him.

“If you look at interviews with ‘Angry Miz Girl’, who was my biggest hater, could not stand me, 10 years later I saw an interview with her and she said she loves seeing me with the title,” said The Miz. “She enjoys it and there’s no bigger fan than her. So I was able to change that person’s mind and that’s what I plan on doing with this title reign.”

Love him or hate him, The Miz is the WWE Champion, and he’s set to have a prominent role on the road to WrestleMania.
