Terry Funk: AEW’s Exploding Barbed Wire Deathmatch Is A Good Way To Wake Vince Up

The legendary Terry Funk is pulling for Jon Moxley and Kenny Omega in their upcoming Exploding Barbed Wire Deathmatch at AEW Revolution as he believes it will be a good wake up call for Vince McMahon.

Funk, who is no stranger to the art of the deathmatch, took a moment via his official Twitter representation to share his best wishes to Omega and Moxley as the two rivals barrel forward to Revolution.

“Just talked to Mr. Funk & he’s doing okay,” the Tweet on Terry’s behalf began after fans expressed concerned for his health. “He just wanted to wish Jon Moxley & Kenny Omega the best of luck in their exploding barbed wire match. He says the match is a good way for AEW to wake up Vince with a good kick in his ass. He wants you to know he’s pulling for you.”

The deathmatch was revealed at the end of this week’s AEW Dynamite as Kenny Omega attacked Jon Moxley with The Good Brothers. This Dynamite also happened to serendipitously feature Terry’s brother, Dory Funk Jr., in the audience.

The concern for the well-being of Terry was recently addressed after the legend had a conversation with Dustin Rhodes, who asked for prayers for his longtime friend. That caused the wrestling world to outpour their support for Terry, but Dustin did make clear that Funk had just been dealing with pain in his hip and that the Funker is indeed a “tough SOB.”
