Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair are all about that Punky Power.
WWE (via Bleacher Report) officially confirmed the two WWE Superstars will appear in guest-starring roles on an episode of the upcoming Punky Brewster reboot, set to premiere on Peacock on Thursday, February 25.
Based on photographs released with the announcement, it would appear that Bliss and Flair are appearing as their WWE characters, not characters created for the show. The series is a continuation of the NBC sitcom “Punky Brewster” starring Soleil Moon Frye and ran from 1984 to 1988.
Based on the on-set photographs provided to Bleacher Report, Flair and Bliss appear in character in the WWE-themed episode. Flair previously appeared in 2017’s Psych: The Movie as “Heather Rockrear” but this will mark Bliss’ first acting role on non-WWE. She also appeared in Bowling For Soup’s “Alexa Bliss” music video last year, but did not have a speaking role.
While this is the first time WWE publicly confirmed the guest spots, some fans may remember that word of Bliss and Flair’s involvement made the rounds in December. D-Von Dudley recorded a Cameo for a fan and mentioned he was out in Los Angeles working on the series, and mentioned that both Bliss and Flair were involved in the project.
“I’m out here in LA, helping to produce a show with Alexa Bliss and Charlotte [Flair]. It’s Punky Brewster, it’s an old ’80s show here in America that we used to watch as a kid. Now it’s come back, like everything else has from the 80s, and so now I’m out here producing and helping and choreographing, just like I do in WWE right now.”
