On the latest Collector’s Corner we take a look at none other than the all-NEW Mattel WWE Elite 79 Collector’s Edition Undertaker!

This figure is currently only available at Walmart as part of a big shipping display with the Decade of Domination Series 1 figures and more. I’d like to thank Mattel for providing me with a sample to review for you as well!

The Packaging

The packaging of this Undertaker is very well done as it celebrates 30-years of the Undertaker. It has a prevalent purple and black color scheme, the colors of the dead man himself, and has a bio about his amazing career in the WWE. All over the box you can see images from throughout his career as well as smoke and other Undertaker-esque effects. Then in the top corner of his box is the Collector’s Edition logo. As mentioned this figure is only available at Walmart as it comes on a display. It has been popping up on the Walmart website as well.

The Figure

As you can see in the packaging Undertaker comes in one of his most recent appearances with his super detailed coat, which is rubber, as well as his signature hat. Both of these are rubber as the detail on the coat especially could not be captured via cloth. Due to the coat being rubber it is a bit challenging to remove so be patient as you can’t pose him in it either, making it difficult to move his arms to remove him from it.

Once you remove Taker from the coat you can see how awesome this figure truly is. He is sporting a brand-new head scan that looks just like him. His hair is slicked back and he has a menacing look on his face. By far one of Taker’s best head scans in my honest opinion as the likeness is fantastic. Moving on from his scan you can see his intricate tattoos all over his arms and right shoulder as well as his black shirt, gloves, black pants with the molded belt and his black boots. He also comes with swappable hands that are slightly closed more to allow him to hold accessories, such as his hat.

Overall

Overall, this is one of Taker’s best Elite action figures to date. The head is fantastic as his the detail overall on his figure. The rubber coat of course isn’t the best but there’s really no other way Mattel would be able to accomplish recreating such a detailed coat of his. The hat fits snug on his head at least so that is great for display and play purposes. Besides the coat “issue” this figure is really well done. I wish he had swappable fists or open hands instead of slightly closed hands but that’s just me nitpicking.

If you want this figure be sure to start checking your Walmart as he comes on a huge display unless your Walmart happens to stock it on the shelf, which they may based on reports/findings I’ve seen. Otherwise press your luck on the Walmart website, which may also be tough. Happy hunting!
