Matt Jackson is unfortunately dealing with a legitimate injury ahead of one of the biggest dream matches in tag team wrestling history.

According to a report by Bryan Alvarez and Dave Meltzer on the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Matt is battling a partially torn MCL and a thinning ACL. The injury reportedly occurred in July during a Falls Count Anywhere match on Dynamite against The Butcher and The Blade.

The injury has since been turned into an angle as FTR “Pillmanized” the leg of Jackson weeks back on Dynamite. In promos that would follow, Matt Jackson would say that he would be powering through the injury during their AEW Tag Team Championship match at Full Gear when The Young Bucks face Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood of FTR. There is a stipulation on this match that should Matt and Nick Jackson lose, they will never be able to challenge for the All Elite Wrestling Tag Team Championship again.

WrestleZone will have live coverage of AEW Full Gear beginning this Saturday at 8 p.m. Eastern.
