Stephen Amell just learned the lesson WWE has been teaching its viewers for years. He didn’t need surgery on his left knee, but Amell did suffer a back injury while performing a stunt on the set of Heels, his pro wrestling television drama that’s headed to Starz. According to reporting by Deadline, the actor was not hospitalized for the injury, but instead assessed by the on-set medic and sent home for rest and recovery. Stephen Amell only recently returned to the set of the show following a COVID-19 diagnosis that had him quarantining through a good chunk of October.
Production on the show continued as normal despite Amell’s absence. Heels features Amell playing Jack Spade, one of two brothers running a family-owned wrestling promotion in a small town and trying to live up to their father’s legacy.
