Rey Fenix will not move on in the AEW World Championship Eliminator Tournament after all.
Fenix picked up a big win over Penta El Zero M on Wednesday night but ultimately left AEW Dynamite at less than 100 percent. Now, All Elite Wrestling has announced that Fenix has vacated his win over Penta and has been pulled from the tournament.
Penta El Zero M will now take his place and compete against Kenny Omega in the second round of the tournament, while Hangman Page will square off against Wardlow. The winners of those two matches next week will advance to the finals, which take place at AEW Full Gear. The winner of the tournament gets a title shot for the world championship.

It was initially reported by Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Fenix was doing OK and that the only thing he’d heard regarding Fenix is that “he was sore” after the match. Fenix landed on his head after an inverted top rope Frankensteiner and the spot left many believing he could have suffered a neck injury. Fenix could be seen on the broadcast informing Penta and referee Aubrey Edwards that he hurt his neck, but the match continued and finished with Fenix picking up the win.
