Perhaps nobody on WWE’s roster has spent more time with Roman Reigns than Seth Rollins. Now, Seth Rollins is weighing in on the new alpha personality Roman Reigns is displaying on Friday Night SmackDown, a side of his personality that Seth Rollins says has had to hide for quite some time.

Almost a year ago, Seth Rollins became “The Monday Night Messiah,” turning his back on the WWE audience and embracing a more selfish and self-righteous attitude. Following his return at WWE SummerSlam, Roman Reigns aligned himself with Paul Heyman and has done much of the same. In fact, both of the former Shield brethren believe that they are allowing this side of their personalities to show for the greater good of WWE as a whole.

Speaking on WWE’s The Bump, Seth Rollins opened up about Roman Reigns new personality, saying that he’s happy to see Roman succeeding and understand that Roman has struggled to keep this side of himself closeted for the majority of his career.

“Well, look, for anyone who’s known Roman Reigns for as long as I have, you’re going to know that this isn’t new,” said Seth. “You know, Roman had to struggle for a long time to kind of closet this side of him. He is an alpha and he sees himself in this light and in this way. I think he’s kind of just got a different lease on the situation and you’re seeing the true Roman reigns right now.”

He continued, “Obviously, physically, he took his time off seriously and he’s in the best shape that he’s ever been in and his in-ring performances have followed suit. So I say kudos to Roman Reigns for finally, you know, taking the bull by the horns instead of riding the bull. So to me, I’m all about it. I’m happy to see his success anywhere he goes and whatever he does.”

It was more than seven years ago that Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns captured their first championships in WWE with one another when they defeated Daniel Bryan and Kane at WWE Extreme Rules 2013 and became WWE Tag Team Champions. Now that they are back on the same roster, it’s only a matter of time before “The Messiah” crosses “The Chief” and their new alpha personalities clash.
