Goldberg returned to WWE on the season premiere of WWE Friday Night SmackDown. It appears there might be some hidden significance to this appearance. According to Inside The Ropes, Goldberg appeared on Friday’s show to pop the ratings for SmackDown and somewhat build toward WWE WrestleMania. Inside The Ropes also reported that Goldberg likely would have been used if WWE booked a show in Saudi Arabia next month.
Plus, Vince McMahon reportedly remains interested in featuring Goldberg on WWE programming, even if it comes at the expense of negative reactions from the fans. “‘Vince McMahon couldn’t care less what anyone thinks about him using Goldberg,'” wrote Inside The Ropes, citing a WWE source.
Many fans have speculated that a rematch between Goldberg and Braun Strowman could be in the cards. A match between the WWE Hall of Famer and Roman Reigns, which had been planned for WWE WrestleMania 36, is also a logical option.
