Braun Strowman recently spoke with Rick Ucchino of Sportskeeda and discuses recent developments in his career, including his return to WWE RAW. The Monster Among Men also previewed his match with Keith Lee. Here are some highlights:
On facing Keith Lee:
Strowman: “I’ve done it all, I’ve been in the ring with everyone. The only thing left I have to do is main event WrestleMania, and that’s not a matter of if, it’s a matter of when. And you know, Keith Lee, like I said, I gotta feel these guys out and Keith for one earned my respect a while back. Like I said, for the little bit of time I’ve been in this business, I’m still old school because I leaned from the greats before me. I learned from all the great big men. Big Show, Mark Henry, Kane, ‘Taker, those guys took me under their wing and it was tough love the way that I learned.”
“You’re gonna earn my respect, I’m not just gonna give it to you. You’re not just gonna walk in the locker room, we’re not gonna be cool. You gotta prove to me that you belong here and you know, honestly, Keith has been one of the very few guys that has stepped up and showed that they want to be here, that they deserve to be here. He earned a little bit more of my respect, even though it was a dumb way to earn it, I give Keith credit. There’s not many men that are willing to stack up and walk out there and get face-to-face with me when I’m in a mood like that, looking to fight. And I’ll give it to him, Keith brought it. At the end of the day, Keith’s got his opportunity Monday, and I know he’s trying to make a name for himself. And I can’t blame him because when I came into this business, I was hungry and I’m still hungry. But I’ve got a name for myself. Keith’s trying to make a name for himself, and I’ll tell you right now, he picked the wrong person to try and do it with.”
On getting drafted to WWE RAW:
Strowman: “You know, it’s going home, per se. The red brand is where it all started. When I got drafted away from the Wyatt Family, I went to RAW.”
“You haven’t even seen what I’m fully capable of, you guys have been able to get tastes of what I can do, what the capabilities that I have, as not only a performer, but a man. And you know, I’m going back home to the place that I made a name for myself, and I’m gonna go back and I’m gonna remind everybody on that RAW brand that I am the alpha of WWE. I am the top of the top of the food chain. And Drew McIntyre, enjoy holding onto that world heavyweight championship because brother, you know I’m coming for it. You know I want it. You know we got bad beef.”
